BITHELL RIDES CAN-AM &
ITP INTO GNCC HISTORY BOOKS
History was made at Round 11 of the 2008 ATVA Grand National Cross Country (GNCC) Series, as Warnert Racing's Chris Bithell put a Can-Am DS 450 into winner's circle for the very first time. Bithell scored the overall win at famed Unadilla Valley Sports Center in New Berlin, New York, in dramatic fashion. After starting the race at the back of the 21-rider pack, Bithell was able to quickly move his way forward and eventually slide into the lead with less than two laps to go. But on the last lap Bithell's Can-Am started sputtering as his fuel level ran low, allowing second place to close in. Bithell was able to will his machine to the finish in first place, however, with a big sigh of relief.
Bithell was obviously ecstatic over his win. "We have worked really hard all season long and to finally take the win feels awesome. I knew we could do it!" Chris said excitedly. "I checked the pit board on the third lap and saw that I was in second and I couldn't believe I was that far up front, so I just put my head down and concentrated on doing my best out there."
Bithell's Can-Am was riding on ITP Holeshot tires front and rear. Up front were Holeshot SRs, featuring the latest sport radial technology and performance characteristics, highlighted by a very smooth ride. Out back were Holeshot XCRs, a proven cross-country race tire with a low profile and angled side knobs for enhanced cornering. This is a very lightweight setup, a combo that proved to be the winning ticket at Unadilla.
